The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services (CMS) unveiled a new initiative to enhance the user experience for Medicare beneficiaries. The eMedicare initiative aims to give users a more personalized online health care experience, empowering patients with updated Medicare resources.
Through a multi-year strategy, the CMS’ eMedicare initiative will use consumer data integration and web product development to rejuvenate the website. Some of the features that will be added to the website will be self-serve options, more digital opportunities, and an enhanced customer service channel.
More improvements to the website include an improved coverage wizard, which will help user compare their options, an out of pocket cost calculator, optimized for mobile use, a webchat option, a simplified log in for the Medicare Plan Finder, and improved surveys.
The CMS’ intent with the eMedicare initiative is to improve and enhance the channels that Medicare beneficiaries use and to develop a consumer experience that is seamless and focused on the user.
